GDC 2009: Noby Noby Boy Stretches To iPhone, Multiplayer For PSN

001.jpgKatamari Damacy series creator Keita Takahashi has revealed that his latest game creation, the PlayStation Network exclusive Noby Noby Boy is bound for iPhone/iPod Touch at some nebulous point in the future.

The port was only shown in a rough demo form at GDC where Takahashi stated that he would love to have players of the portable version able to add their overall progress to the Girl metagame. If this didn’t prove possible, he pointed out that at the current average rate of Girl’s growth, it would take 820 years to get to the end of the solar system. Sounds like Keita perhaps didn’t think this proposition fully through when he designed things. Maybe they could take a page from the books of MMOs and instead of a Double XP weekend, they could have triple or quadruple-growth weeks to help boost progress?

Another thing touched upon was the upcoming update, which will add in offline multiplayer. Due to hit in April, Takahashi says that up to four players will be able to stretch and twist their Boys across the landscape. Also mentioned was the fact that players will be able to eat one another.

  1. I have this game, and I have yet to figure out what the hell this game is about. This game is like pissing in a wine bottle just to watch snooty wine geeks swish it around in their mouth and call it refined. Its a digital prank!
