And checking in from the “News that brought a big, stupid grin to my face” category, Hudson Soft dropped a press release today announcing that a revamp of the TurboGrafx-16 turn-based strategy game, Military Madness is deploying soon on Xbox Live Arcade, PlayStation Network and WiiWare.
The reworked version of the classic title, due this summer, will have new graphics, with a 3-D battlefield view, several new units (of which only a Commander is mentioned by name) and online co-op and Vs. multiplayer, supporting up to four players.
Speaking as a gamer who stupidly sold off my TurboGrafx-16 console back in the early 90′s (to buy CDs for my newly purchased CD player, if you can believe it), this honestly made my day. Silly as that may be, I really enjoyed this game and am looking forward to seeing how this new version looks and plays.
What do you think? Did any of you get to enjoy this title back in it’s heyday?

Never played the original though I can relate to stupidly selling off consoles. I’ve sold off nearly every console that I’ve previously owned (with the exception of the Xbox, Dreamcast, and PS2), bought them again only to sell them once more and then pine endlessly over my own idiocy.
Yeah, during the CD binge I mentioned, I sold off my TG16, my Sega Master System and my Genesis. I later re-purchased the Genesis but, sadly, at that point the other two were hard to find. :/
