The Behemoth, the developers who brought us such quirky fare as the oft-delayed-but-much-loved Castle Crashers and Alien Hominid, have dropped us a tantalizing tease on their next project.
The only details we currently have, via the developer blog, are the screenshot seen on the left and the following details: March 18th will bring us the first trailer for the upcoming title, currently going by the code name “Game #3″. A couple of days later, March 20 and 21st, The Behemoth will be making an appearance at the Tokyo Anime Fair, where an early build of the project will be on display.
Here’s to hoping that the new project doesn’t end up facing as many delays as Castle Crashers did. In the meanwhile, we can all pass the time by making up our own stories about why this square-headed gentleman is crying. I mean, he has a freakin’ huge emerald for crying out loud! And a spiffy hat, too! What does he have to really be sad about? Yeah, I don’t know either.

I actually just bought Castle Crashers. It’s pretty awesome though I haven’t finished it quite yet. I also really enjoyed Alien Hominid (I had it for the Gamecube). I’m excited to see what they have next, but it seems like it’s a bit early to show it. I mean I imagine it isn’t going to come out anytime soon. Love the screenshot though. Their art is always good.
Perhaps his tears have something to do with the army of Red Eyes behind him?
