area5.jpgIn today’s world, when pink slips are flying left, right and center, it’s nice to see people bouncing back quickly from hardship.

The latest success story in the wake of January’s shake-up over at 1UP would be Area 5 Media – Ryan, Matt and the other wacky kids that were behind The 1Up Show. Shortly after they (along with so many others) were victims of the layoff-axe that fell on the former Ziff-Davis crew, they bounced back, formed their own production group and started up a new show, CO-OP.

Recently, the guys told us that this Tuesday, along with the premiere of season 1 of CO-OP, there would be an announcement – The Announcement as they put it. Well, daylight savings time must be throwing people’s clocks off a bit as the announcement leaked this afternoon.

1UP reports today that on the latest episode of The Digg Reel, internet tv network Revision3 let the cat out of the bag a bit prematurely. Host Andrew Bancroft dropped the newsbomb that CO-OP had been picked up by Rev3 and would be found there every Tuesday.

Congrats to Ryan, Matt, Jay, Rob, Jason and Cesar for finding a new home. We knew you guys could do it. Now make us proud by giving us some awesome shows to watch.

EDIT: The first episode of CO-OP is live over at Rev3. Go check it out!

Glad to see this rumor pan out. Revision3 is the reanimated corpse of the old TechTV minus Martin Sargeant and Sarah Lane. Now, the site will have a good game-centric show aside from the kinda lame TRS.

It’s good to see that most of the people from the 1Up implosion have now found homes. I hope that this deal works out for the guys at Area 5 and that they can continue to create such an entertaining show.
