Sam & Max Investigate Xbox Live

sammax.jpgSam & Max are well known to PC adventure game enthusiasts, ranking up alongside Guybrush Threepwood and the Purple Tentacle in terms of iconic recognition. The award-winning duo garnered legions of new fans as well when their newest adventures began releasing episodically back in the fall of 2006 and even more when the collected first season was ported to Wii.

Well, it looks as if the Freelance Police are making their move to snare yet another market. Telltale Games announced today that they would be bringing the franchise to Xbox 360 via Xbox Live Arcade.

While no word on release dates has yet been given, the adventures of Steve Purcell’s dog and “rabbity-thing” are being given a slight face…err…namelift. Season One is being re-titled Sam & Max Save The World, while Season Two will be released as Sam & Max Beyond Time and Space. The upcoming retail release of Season Two box will also sport the revamped titles.

Not much else to say, really. Sounds like a good deal to me. I’ve been meaning to play these for quite a while now and having yet another platform making them available gives me even less reason to procrastinate.

  1. Awesome. It will probably be a little pricey as its a year old Wii-ware hand me down, but come on, Sam and Max AND achievements? WINNER!

Sam & Max was a series that I kept telling myself that I should play, but I just never got around to it. So I’ll be keeping an eye out for these titles.

  3. Dingy, if you have Steam, you can play a couple of episodes for free.
